The What & Why it’s Needed

FED LOG is a military parts database used by all branches of the armed forces to search and order needed parts.

PROBLEM

In order to find information in a very large, constantly changing database, our Government customer had to use multiple software systems to search and find that information. This increased searched time by 10-fold and presented conflicting information to the customer (one system said one thing about the data, a different system presented another). The systems were hard-coded, cumbersome, highly expensive, and manual.

SOLUTION

Synergetics brought the disparate systems into a one-stop, authoritative platform. The new software was self-testing, self-repairing, feature-rich, and orders of magnitude lower in cost.

IMPACT FOR THE CUSTOMER

Whenever changes had to be made to the previous systems, it cost the Government customer significant money and took lots of time. Working with Synergetics, the PMO has said that deliverables are always on time, at or under budget, with no bugs. The product is far more stable, and saves them time, money, and removes the headaches of the previous systems.

ONGOING BENEFIT

The design of the software is far more robust – changes can be made at the blink of an eye at no cost. Synergetics continues to improve and automate reliability, reduce maintenance hours & costs, and reduce machine footprint (less server space).
